So, it's no wonder that Middlesex Hospital became the first in Connecticut to achieve Magnet Recognition in 2001 … the highest international award granted to health care organizations for outstanding excellence in nursing services.

In fact, Middlesex Hospital is a three-time Magnet hospital, the only one in Connecticut.  Less than 1% of hospitals in the United States have achieved Magnet status three times.
