Middlesex Hospital recently received two major quality awards: the Get With The Guidelines®– Heart Failure Gold Quality Achievement Award from the American Heart Association and the Get With The Guidelines®-Stroke Gold Plus Quality Achievement Award from the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association.

Local restaurants throughout Middlesex County have joined together for a third year in a special dining program, Appetite for Life, to benefit the Center for Survivorship and Integrative Medicine (CSIM) at the Middlesex Hospital Cancer Center.

The Middlesex Hospital Cancer Center will host its annual Survivors Day on Sunday, May 20, 2012, from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. The event will take place on the grounds of the Cancer Center at 536 Saybrook Road in Middletown.

HealthGrades®, a leading provider of comprehensive information about physicians and hospitals, recently named Middlesex Hospital to its list of America’s best 100 hospitals for 2012.

Middlesex Hospital is pleased to announce it has reached a contract agreement with UnitedHealthcare for their commercial products. This means that Middlesex Hospital will continue as a participating provider with UnitedHealthcare.

Appetite for Life

For the third year in a row, local restaurants throughout Middlesex County will support the Center for Survivorship and Integrative Medicine (CSIM) at the Middlesex Hospital Cancer Center during the month of June. This month-long program, entitled, “Appetite for Life” will begin on National Cancer Survivors Day, June 1, 2012.

Cancer Center to Host Men's Health Event

The Middlesex Hospital Cancer Center is hosting a Men’s Health and Wellness Day on Saturday, April 14, 2012, from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m., at the First United Methodist Church, 24 Old Church Street, in Middletown.

“Project Pink,” a makeover and fashion show event featuring breast cancer survivors, will take place on Thursday, April 26, 2012, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Riverhouse at Goodspeed Station in Haddam.

The Middletown South Fire District Firefighters Local 3918 IAFF recently donated $600 to the Middlesex Hospital Cancer Center. The firefighters raised the money from a food booth at their recent annual Fire Safety Festival during October, which is breast cancer awareness month.

Free Program for Pregnant Women
