Frequently Asked Questions

“Why am I feeling so badly now that I’m done with treatment? Everyone around me is thrilled.”

When patients complete treatment they may begin or continue to process what just happened to them. This can be a very trying time as they are less busy with appointments, are less ill having completed treatment, and have the energy to try to make sense out of the previous month’s activities. Their families, however, may have already processed the experience and be ready to move forward. This can cause a disconnect between patients and their family. To bridge this communication gap, patients need to both give themselves time to think about what these past months have meant to them and to let their families know they are still recovering from diagnosis and treatment.
