Our Services
The oncology dietitian meets with patients (and their family members) that have different kinds of cancer diagnoses and assesses them for nutritional risk that may occur during treatment. The dietitian will create an individualized nutritional plan that addresses the patient’s specific issues. She may counsel the patient and family to maintain weight during treatment. This may include the use of supplements or changes in diet. The registered dietitian will also be knowledgeable of any dietary supplements you may be using. Finally, the registered dietitian will make eating suggestions that to make eating easier during therapy. The services of the oncology certified registered dietitian is available throughout your treatment.
Ongoing Services
Classes, grocery store tours, and presentations are also offered by the dietitian here at Middlesex Hospital’s Cancer Center. March is national nutrition month so watch for specific events during the month of March!
