Our Services and Care Setting

“Our goal is to maintain our patients’ quality of life at end of life by managing their symptoms and satisfying their needs while also considering and addressing the needs of their family as desired.”
– Maureen Stanley, RN, Hospice/Palliative Care Program

Hospice and Palliative services include:

  • Management of symptoms and medications
  • Help with nutritional needs
  • Emotional support
  • Coordination of care
  • Personal care
  • Companionship
  • Education on illness-related issues
  • Assistance with resource planning
  • Caregiver assistance
  • Spiritual counseling
  • Holistic services- art and music program, Reiki
  • Bereavement counseling
  • Patients have access to all available hospital services as well

Our Hospice is a home-based care program. Most hospice and palliative care patients are cared for in their own homes, where they most want to be.  This includes skilled nursing facilities and assisted living residencies.  However, sometimes patients using hospice service might move from one setting to another, as care needs change and may be referred to their doctor or to the hospital. It is important to remember that, if desired, patients who are treated in Hospice may be able to return to the place of residency once symptoms are managed.

In-patient Hospice & Palliative Care Program

Our in-patient Hospice offers a warm and home-like setting for both patients and family members. The rooms are comfortable and have modern amenities and homemade quilts. Patients and family members have 24-hour access to a fully stocked kitchen, a family room, the Internet, and the chapel.
