Treatment

As medical oncologists, we are trained in developing and overseeing a treatment plan for your type of cancer.  We will spend time with you to explain your diagnosis and review all available treatment options.  We will also work with you to control any symptoms from your illness or treatment.

If chemotherapy is decided upon, we can provide your treatments in our comfortable chemotherapy infusion suite, which is staffed by our chemotherapy-certified nurses.

Depending on your type of cancer, we may also recommend a surgeon and/or radiation oncologist to help determine and perform the best course of treatment.  In addition to our office in the Middlesex Hospital Cancer Center, we also have an office in Centerbrook.  We have access to the most innovative and advanced therapies in the world, and participate in national clinical trials.

But we don’t just focus on your cancer – we take care of the whole you.  If you need any additional services during your treatment, such as occupational or physical therapy, nutrition counseling, psychosocial support, or financial counseling, we will make sure you get them.

Many patients contemplate getting a second opinion on their treatment, but may feel uncomfortable doing so.  We encourage patients to express their preferences, and aid them in seeking second opinions.  We believe that the more informed a patient is, the greater the role they can play in making decisions about their treatment, and the more comfortable they will feel with their treatment plan.
