Our Staff

Our surgeons are board-certified and graduated from the most prestigious universities, medical schools, and residencies.  The surgeons work with patients, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, primary care physicians and nurses such as nurse navigators to develop and implement a comprehensive treatment plan for each patient.

The Middlesex Hospital Cancer Center is accredited by The American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer and has been awarded this accreditation with commendation.  This certification is granted every three years. This year, the Middlesex Hospital Cancer Center received the Outstanding Achievement Award from the Commission of Cancer for excellence in its programs demonstrated during its most recent review.  Please visit the Commission on Cancer website to learn more about this accreditation at http://www.facs.org/cancer/coc/whatis.html.

The surgeons at Middlesex Hospital Cancer Center also voluntarily participate in the National Surgical Quality Improvement Program.  “The ACS National Surgical Quality Improvement Program (ACS NSQIP) is the first nationally validated, risk-adjusted, outcomes-based program to measure and improve the quality of surgical care” (American College of Surgeons National Surgical Quality Improvement Program, 2006).  Participating hospitals are able to submit data, produce current benchmarking reports, conduct data analysis to evaluate their improvement, and receive feedback about better practices.  There are 200 participating hospitals nationally and Middlesex Hospital is one of only four participating hospitals in Connecticut. To learn more about the ACS NSQIP, please visit their website at https://acsnsqip.org/main/about_overview.asp .
