How do I know if I should seek a Hereditary Risk Assessment?
If you or a family member has a history of breast or ovarian cancer, the following guidelines can help you determine if you should seek an assessment:
- Breast cancer before age 50
- Ovarian cancer at any age
- Bilateral breast cancer at any age
- Both breast cancer and ovarian cancer at any age
- Male breast cancer at any age
- Ashkenazi Jewish ancestry with breast or ovarian cancer at any age
- A previously identified BRCA mutation
- Two or more breast cancers, one under age 50
