Our Nurse Navigators

Gean Brown is the nurse navigator for the Lung and Colon Pathways. She is a graduate from the Wilcox College of Nursing and is a certified oncology registered nurse with 15 years of experience.  She is also certified in chemotherapy and biotherapy.  She is an active member of the Central Connecticut Oncology Nurses Society, and serves on the board of directors.

Dorothy Carvalho is the nurse navigator for the Urology Pathway. She has experience in medical, surgical, and oncology nursing and has been an RN for 18 years. She has spent the last 6 years working at Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, Florida, as a Primary Nurse in Women’s Oncology.

Patricia O’Brien is the certified breast care nurse navigator for the Breast Pathway.  She has experience in oncology, medical, and surgical nursing at Yale.  She served as the director of a Home IV therapy company and also has experience in drug safety during her time at Bayer Pharmaceuticals.  She worked with a dedicated breast surgeon in Hartford prior to coming to Middlesex Hospital Cancer Center.
