Emergency Services at Marlborough Medical Center
The Marlborough Medical Center offers a full complement of emergency services, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, provided by board-certified emergency physicians and other clinical personnel. There are 12 emergency treatment rooms, with two of these rooms dedicated to critical patients. An Express Care area also serves patients with non-life-threatening but urgent medical needs.
There are also isolation and decontamination areas in the Emergency Department and a helipad on site for LIFE STAR medical helicopter transports.
Designed for injuries and illnesses that are urgent, but not life-threatening, Express Care is staffed by physician assistants, nurse practitioners and emergency nurses. Call us for current hours of operation.
Middlesex Hospital paramedics provide critical treatment in the field, working alongside fire and EMS personnel throughout its service area. The Middlesex Hospital paramedic service is one of only three such hospital–based services in the state.
Middlesex Hospital paramedics provide emergency medical services to the towns of Marlborough, Colchester, East Haddam and East Hampton, 24 hours a day. Being able to provide these services before a patient in critical condition gets to the Emergency Department is extremely important. Paramedics receive special medical training that enables them to provide an advanced level of emergency medical services.
