Free Program for Pregnant Women

The Middlesex Hospital Family Advocacy Program is offering a free course for pregnant women called the “Nurturing Prenatal Program.” The ten-session course will take place every Tuesday, from January 10, 2012 through March 13, 2012, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Family Advocacy Office, 8 Crescent Street in Middletown.

Participants in the course will learn strategies that promote healthy pregnancies and healthy babies; how to enhance the parent-child bond prior to birth; how to recognize the physical, emotional and social changes that occur during pregnancy; the importance of self-care and ways to promote positive discipline with children.

Refreshments will be served and partners are also invited to attend. To register, call Mary Doyle, M.S.W., at (860) 358-6427.

This program is provided through funding from the Children’s Trust Fund, a division of the Connecticut Department of Social Services and Middlesex Hospital.
