Hospital Offers Free Program for Pregnant Women

The Middlesex Hospital Family Advocacy Program is offering a free course for pregnant women and their partners called the “Nurturing Prenatal Program.” The ten-session course will take place every Monday, from January 7, 2013 through March 18, 2013, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the hospital.

Participants in the course will learn strategies that promote healthy pregnancies and healthy babies; how to enhance the parent-child bond prior to birth; how to recognize the physical, emotional and social changes that occur during pregnancy; the importance of self-care and ways to promote positive discipline with children.

Dinner will be served. To register, call Mary Doyle, M.S.W., at (860) 358-6427.

This program is provided through funding from the Children’s Trust Fund, a division of the Connecticut Department of Social Services and Middlesex Hospital.
