Bio

Dr. Angel Roubin is a clinical psychologist at the Middlesex Health Center for Behavioral Health. She also serves as the Psychology Training Director for the Middlesex Health Behavioral Health Services Doctoral Internship Program.

Training & Expertise

Dr. Roubin completed a Bachelor’s Degree in psychology at James Madison University followed by a Master’s Degree in Psychology and Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Pepperdine University. She has been employed at Middlesex Hospital since 2013, when she began her predoctoral psychology internship in the Family Advocacy Program child and adolescent outpatient clinic. She completed her postdoctoral fellowship at the Middlesex Health Center for Behavioral Health, splitting time between both the adult and child and adolescent outpatient clinics. Upon completion of training, Dr. Roubin was hired into her current position as full-time psychologist at the child and adolescent outpatient clinic.

Throughout her training and professional career, Dr. Roubin has worked in various clinical settings, including schools, research labs, community mental health clinics, private practice and hospitals. She has worked with a diverse population of children and adults, providing various modalities of psychotherapy (i.e., individual, family, group) and assessment (i.e., psychological, educational, neuropsychological) services.

Compassionate Care

Dr. Roubin provides outpatient care for children and adolescents, and she enjoys working within a multidisciplinary team.

Transgender Navigator

What does a transgender navigator do?

Our transgender navigator, Dr. Roubin, will get to know you and your unique needs. If you are in transition, she can help you navigate the myriad of decisions about hormone replacement therapy and gender transition surgery. She can help you to identify providers who are familiar with the needs of transgender patients and who have the right background to meet your clinical needs. She can also help you work through any emotional issues that come up as you navigate the health care system.
