Dr. J. Michael Parker, a sub-specialist in Colorectal Surgery, completed his fellowship at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. He has additional fellowship training in Minimally Invasive Gastrointestinal Surgery from the Mayo Clinic. Dr. Parker completed his residency in General Surgery at New York Medical College. As a colorectal surgeon, Dr. Parker offers robotic and laparoscopic approaches to treat colon and rectal cancer, along with advanced treatment of Ulcerative Colitis by creating the "J-pouch" to restore continence. He has advanced training in fecal incontinence, anorectal fistulas, Crohn's disease, and can use colonoscopy or trans-anal minimally invasive surgery (TAMIS) to remove difficult polyps. Dr. Parker is board certified by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery.
