Training & Expertise

Dr. Kuhn is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery in both orthopedic surgery and orthopedic sports medicine. He has completed two fellowships—in 2008, Dr. Kuhn was one of three surgeons in the United States selected for a fellowship in advanced arthroscopy with the Arthroscopy Association of North America. His second fellowship, at New England Baptist Hospital, focused on sports medicine. Dr. Kuhn performed his residency at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center (National Naval Medical Center) after earning his medical degree at the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences.

He also served in Kuwait. In 2013, Dr. Kuhn was recognized as the Federal Health Care Physician of the Year in 2013 for his cutting edge techniques and skills in cartilage restoration, which resulted in combat athletes returning to their occupations and duties at levels not previously achieved.

Dr. Kuhn is a member of multiple prestigious professional societies and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons.

Services & Procedures

Dr. Kuhn is a distinguished specialist in sports medicine. He is passionate about treatment of athletes of all ages and use of arthroscopic surgery for injuries of the shoulder, elbow, hip, knee and ankle. In addition to hip and knee replacement, he performs advanced cartilage restoration procedures to help athletes return to the highest level of function, as well as to preserve joints and reduce the need for joint replacement surgeries. He also treats work injuries and provides both surgical and non-surgical fracture care.

More About Dr. Kuhn

Dr. Kuhn was born and raised in southeastern Pennsylvania. Outside of his practice, he enjoys outdoor activities—he has run ten marathons—and community events. He also travels nationally and internationally with his wife and family.
