UPDATE – Saturday, February 24, 2018

MIDDLETOWN

Middlesex Hospital has resumed providing emergency care to walk-in patients.

It is still not receiving patients via ambulance, and the Hospital’s normal Emergency Department
location in Middletown is still closed until further notice.

Patients who visit the Hospital’s temporary Emergency Department space should drive to the main
entrance of the Hospital. At that point, a security officer will be there to greet them. The officer will
then direct them to where they need to go.

If someone is sick or injured and needs immediate attention, they should call 9-1-1. An ambulance will bring them to the next nearest emergency department. Middlesex’s other Emergency Department locations in Westbrook and Marlborough are open.

Patients are now allowed to receive visitors. Flu restrictions remain in place.

All other Middlesex Health System locations are operating as normal.

A premier location.

Our residents work hard, but they have fun, too. Middletown offers a variety of playful things to do, particularly river sports such as boating, sailing, wind-surfing, rowing and fishing. But there’s also skiing, snowboarding, swimming, golf, tennis, cycling and hiking. If you like fine dining, there’s plenty of that, too. There’s no end to the recreational possibilities the Middletown area offers. In fact, the nearby Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun casinos provide lots of action, entertainment and excitement.

In the Middlesex of it all.

What makes Middletown such a great place to live is its proximity to everything. Middletown is literally and figuratively in the middle of it all. Middletown is no sleepy New England village. It's a lively city situated in the hub of New England, about two hours from Boston and New York City.

From Middletown it's not far to the Connecticut coastline, to Cape Cod, to Mystic Seaport and Martha's Vineyard. It's also close to charming Connecticut towns, brilliant fall landscapes, and countless antique shops, historic sites and country fairs.

A state of well-being.

Connecticut is one of the nation's most attractive and appealing places to live and work. It has a rich historical tradition, and it may be small in size, but it has a lot of variety. You'll find some of the country's most beautiful natural scenery here, and you'll find villages and towns with the kind of charm and spirit that exists only in New England.

Connecticut has lively cities, fascinating museums and attractions and renowned universities. It offers every sport and recreational activity you can imagine. It's a wonderful place to live - and to learn.
