Required Steps Before Your First Day
We are excited that you have decided to join Middlesex Hospital and look forward to meeting you on your start date. Below is a list of items that must be completed before your first day. Please complete each of these important steps to ensure you will be set up and ready to go when you arrive.
- Schedule Pre-Placement Health Interview Appointment
On the Employee Health Screening Requirements tab, you will find instructions and contact information to schedule your appointment with Occupational Medicine and Employee Health Services. Please schedule your appointment as soon as possible and allow yourself at least two (2) weeks prior to your Orientation date for required medical clearance.
- Order uniforms if required for your position.
It can take up to 2 weeks for delivery, so it's important to order them as soon as possible.
Complete New Hire Materials data entryOn the New Hire Materials tab of the New Employee Portal, click on the link provided to access the Lawson website. Here you will complete the necessary pre-employment data entry such as direct deposit information, tax information, and personal information. A member from the Human Resources team will have sent you a secure email which contains your user ID (E#) along with a temporary password to grant access. Please remember that all passwords are case sensitive and must be transposed accurately in order to grant access. With any access or password issues, please call Human Resources at (860) 358-6380.
- Complete HealthStream Pre-Employment Requirements
On the HealthStream tab, click the link provided to access HealthStream. You are required to complete all assigned orientation activities on the HealthStream site prior to your Orientation Date. You will be compensated for this training upon your start date. Please note that you will need to use your new Employee Number (E#) assigned to you in your offer letter. If you do not have a computer available to you, use of the MHS Library computers can be arranged to complete the mandatory learning activities. - Obtain New Employee Badge
Please see the Department of Safety & Security in order to have your employee badge made. An appointment is not necessary, however, you must visit the office during the following hours to ensure a security officer will be at the desk: Monday- Friday, 7:30 AM- 8:30 AM, 11:30 AM- 12:30 PM, & 2:30 PM- 3:30 PM. Your badge will be sent to Human Resources prior to your first day of orientation, and will be available for you to collect during sign in on that morning. To register your vehicle, please clink on the Vehicle Registration link provided under the New Hire Materials tab of the portal.
