Connecticut’s first outpatient knee cartilage membrane surgery using a patient’s own cells was recently performed at Middlesex Hospital.

Middlesex Hospital has been awarded a $32,000 grant from the Connecticut Breast Health Initiative. The money will be used to fund radiologist Dr. Ravi Jain’s study on the use of molecular breast imaging for diagnostic purposes.

On September 14 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., the Valentine H. Zahn Community Gallery will hold a reception for its new exhibit, which features the work of members of the Clinton Art Society.

Middlesex Hospital and the Connecticut chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association are teaming up to offer a four-part course dedicated to helping the friends and family members of those who have dementia, including Alzheimer’s disease.

Middlesex Hospital was named “most wired” again this year by “Hospitals & Health Networks,” the journal of the American Hospital Association. This is the sixth consecutive year the Hospital has received this honor.

The Middlesex Hospital Cancer Center held its annual Survivors Day Celebration Sunday at The Riverhouse of Goodspeed Station. The event recognized the courage and strength that cancer survivors exhibit every day.

Middlesex Improves Veteran Outreach

Middlesex Hospital works hard to recognize local veterans, and that effort is very apparent in the Hospice and Palliative Care unit.

Appetite for Life, a month-long fundraiser that benefits the Middlesex Hospital Cancer Center, will kick off May 31 at Tuscany Grill in Middletown. A second party will be held at Luigi’s Restaurant in Old Saybrook on June 7.

The winner of this year’s goPINK Project's T-shirt design contest is Jackson Martin, a Madison resident and a junior at Xavier High School.

On June 1, the Valentine H. Zahn Community Gallery will open a new exhibit, which features the work of members of the Madison Arts Society.
