Thank You to Our Entire Community
A message from our board of directors about the incident on Feb. 22.
Time and time again, we find that the most amazing part of being a community hospital is the community that we have the honor of being a part of every day.
The incident that took place at our Middletown Emergency Department on Thursday, February 22nd could have been a very difficult setback for our hospital and our patients. But the overwhelming teamwork and effort from first responders, including fire departments, EMS, law enforcement and government agencies, as well as our partners in the community, fellow hospitals, contractors and especially our employees, have helped us withstand and overcome it.
Together, we were able to keep our patients safe and out of harm's way. As a team, we quickly assessed and repaired the damage that was done, and ensured we were able to continue providing emergency care at a temporary ER within hours. And now, we're beyond proud to say, with everyone working in concert, our Emergency Department is back up and running as normal—within just nine days of the incident.
We're truly humbled and thankful to be a part of this amazing community, and we look forward to continuing to provide the outstanding, top-quality care you have come to expect from us.
