SURGEONS

Leah W. Bassin
Dr. Bassin is board-certified in breast surgery and fellowship-trained at Beth Israel Medical Center/St. Luke’s Roosevelt in New York and a graduate of Ross University School of Medicine.

Dr. Bassin performs oncoplastic surgery, which treats breast cancer by combining cancer removal and breast reconstruction into a single procedure.

Andrea M. Malon
Dr. Malon is board certified by the American Board of Surgery. She is a graduate of Mount Sinai School of Medicine, and she completed her residency at St. Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital Center. Dr. Malon is Medical Director of the Cancer Center and a Senior Attending Physician at Middlesex Hospital.

Dr. Malon is a general surgeon at the Hospital, specializing in breast surgeries, along with colorectal, laparoscopic, and thoracic surgeries. She is also a surgical oncologist.

J. Michael Parker
Dr. J. Michael Parker, a sub-specialist in Colorectal Surgery, completed his fellowship at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. He has additional fellowship training in Minimally Invasive Gastrointestinal Surgery from the Mayo Clinic. Dr. Parker completed his residency in General Surgery at New York Medical College. As a colorectal surgeon, Dr. Parker offers robotic and laparoscopic approaches to treat colon and rectal cancer, along with advanced treatment of Ulcerative Colitis by creating the "J-pouch" to restore continence. He has advanced training in fecal incontinence, anorectal fistulas, Crohn's disease, and can use colonoscopy or trans-anal minimally invasive surgery (TAMIS) to remove difficult polyps.

Peter S. Romeyn
Dr. Romeyn is board certified by the American Board of Surgery. A graduate of the University of Vermont College of Medicine, he completed his residency at Maine Medical Center. Dr. Romeyn has special interest in laparoscopic surgery, gastroesophageal reflux disease, and colorectal surgery. He is a Senior Attending physician at Middlesex Hospital and is Section Chief of General Surgery.

Jonathan A. Cosin
Dr. Cosin earned his medical degree at New York Medical College and completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Baystate Medical Center. He was a Galloway Fellow at the Department of Gynecology at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center and a fellow in Gynecologic Oncology at the University of Minnesota. Dr. Cosin is Board Certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and in the ABOG subspecialty of Gynecologic Oncology. He is currently an Associate Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Georgetown University. He is a fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists the American College of Surgeons, and the American Society of Clinical Oncology. He is also Principle Investigator of the Gynecologic Oncology Group at Washington Hospital Center. Dr. Cosin was also awarded Best Doctors between 2005-2011 by Washingtonian Magazine.

Molly A. Brewer
Dr. Brewer earned her medical degree at the State University of New York at Syracuse. She completed her residency at the Oregon Health & Science University and served a fellowship in Gynecologic Oncology at the University of Texas MD Anderson Center. Dr. Brewer is Board Certified in Obstetrics & Gynecology, and in the ABOG subspecialities of Gynecologic Oncology and Hospice and Palliative Medicine. She specializes in Gynecologic Oncology.

A professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Connecticut, Dr. Brewer is a member of the Scientific Advisory Board for the Center for Gamma-Ray Imaging, and the Scientific Advisory Board for Ovarian Cancer Research Fund. She was also awarded Top Doctor by U.S. News and World Report.

Alicia A. McKelvey
As a member of the Middlesex Hospital Surgical Alliance, board-certified thoracic surgeon, Dr. McKelvey is performing the most advanced surgical procedures to treat a variety of conditions of the chest, lungs, esophagus and surrounding organs. She is actively involved in the Total Lung Care Program at the Middlesex Hospital Cancer Center.

New member of the Middlesex Hospital Surgical Alliance

Chia-Chi Wang
Dr. Wang comes to Middlesex Hospital from Beebe Medical Group in Lewes, Del. Dr. Wang earned her bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Rutgers University and her doctor of osteopathic medicine from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey’s School of Ostepathic Medicine. She was also an intern and resident in general surgery at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey’s New Jersey Medical School.

Dr. Wang was a surgical oncology fellow at the Roswell Park Cancer Institute in New York, and she was a visiting surgical oncology fellow in gastric cancer surgery at the Seoul National University Hospital in South Korea. Dr. Wang performs a variety of oncological surgeries, including, but not limited to, surgeries for gastric cancer, pancreatic cancer, and hepatobiliary cancer.
