Occupational Therapists focus on helping individuals improve their ability to perform the activities that “occupy” their everyday life. Including, but not limited to, activities of daily living, home management and job tasks. The goal of the occupational therapy program is to maximize the return of lost function from an injury by restoring physical ability, teaching new skills, and/or through modifying activities that will help increase your independence with the work, self-care, and leisure activities that are important to you.
Our occupational therapists provide a variety of treatments for the rehabilitation of arthritis, cancer-related impairments, hand and upper extremity impairments with custom splinting as needed, lymphedema management, neurological deficits, orthopedic injuries, post-operative limitations and pulmonary rehabilitation.
Our staff includes occupational therapists that are Certified Lymphedema Therapists and Certified Hand Therapists as well as a therapist trained in the Graston Technique which is instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization that enables clinicians to effectively detect and treat scar tissue and restrictions that affect normal function.
