Middlesex Hospice and Palliative Care Seeks Volunteers
The Middlesex Hospice and Palliative Care Program at Middlesex Hospital is seeking volunteers to work in a variety of settings. Volunteers are a key part of the hospice and palliative care team in helping patients and families cope with the challenges of terminal illness. Volunteers work in homes, on the Weiss Hospice Inpatient Unit at the main hospital, or in bereavement support. Forty hours of classes (held primarily on Saturdays) and a 12-hour mentorship are required to become a volunteer in the program. The program is especially in need of male volunteers.
Training runs from early February through mid-April, 2012. To begin the application process, contact Barbara Standke, hospice volunteer coordinator, at (860) 358-6955 or email her at firstname.lastname@example.org. at your earliest convenience.
