Cataract

Overview

A cataract is a clouding of the normally clear lens of the eye.

Symptoms

It's like looking through a frosty or fogged-up window. Most cataracts develop slowly.

Treatments

When a cataract interferes with a person's usual activities, the cloudy lens can be replaced with a clear, artificial lens. This is generally a safe, outpatient procedure.
